How to negotiate (the practical way):

You don't just ask for "a better price." You use your findings. For example: "Vendor B, your quote is 8% higher than Vendor A on the fixture. However, Vendor A charges separately for the LED modules and mounting hardware. When I add those in, your total is only 2% higher, and your lead time is guaranteed, not estimated.
